support for api/v1?

Hi Larsks,

thanks for this project, I found it useful for publishing services in vIPs. Unfortunately I see it supports only v1beta1 version of kubernetes, by any chance are you planning to addapt it to v1?

@moix, I haven't looked at the v1 api myself yet. There are several changes, including the fact that the publicIPs element used by Kiwi is going away. I'll take a look at metmajer's changes.

Hi, this is my fork.
It "worked" on our setup which is/was a CoreOS cluster on bare-metal. I can clean it up and make a PR if you want.

Thing is PublicIPs are gone from the service description is Kube V1 API, so what to do depends a lot on the underlying infra and it is hard to make anything generic like kiwi.

We don't use kiwi anymore for exposing public services. We use a combination of

• vulcand : http reverse-proxy with configuration in etcd [Super cool project by mailgun]
• kube2vulcand : which is a kube2sky clone which configures vulcand and watches the kube-apiserver
  [super dirty project by myself, I will fix it up this week-end]

This allows us to load-balance all incoming traffic on all nodes. Each port on each node <=> a service.
At this point kube-proxy kicks in and routes the traffic as if it came from the inside of the cluster.

A cleaner way would be to implement a cloudprovider in kubernetes, but that is more work.

I am trying to setup a CoreOS cluster on bare-metal at this moment too, so maybe your work will be very helpfull.
