gmsh 4.15.0 *.msh file format

I was trying to figure out how to save a generated mesh, filename.msh, in Version 2.2 format? The default is Version 4.1 format.
I'm using gmsh version 4.15.0 on Ubuntu Linux 24.04 and invoking gmsh as:
$ gmsh -format msh22
When I load a *.geo file and mesh -> save mesh it
still results in a *.msh file being saved in version 4.1.
Any ideas welcome,

Instead of 'Save mesh', use 'Export' and select 'Gmsh MSH format' or directly give the msh22 extension to the file.

Hi Antonio, It appears that my problem was my FreeCad drawing i.e. the *.brep file, which had some errors. This apparently caused gmsh to unexpectedly produce a msh file only in the default format. So, by correcting my FreeCad drawing, I was able to get gmsh to give me the version 2.2 msh format via invoking gmsh as: $ gmsh -format msh22 & Thanks
