[auto-dark-light@gihaume] Custom Time For Automatic Theme Change #6758
Comments
I agree because while I like the sunset to be automatic to help not being awakened too late from the screen light, in the morning it is quite the opposite: I would like to be awakened by it probably earlier, chosen by my work schedule. Currently the way the event scheduling is decided is not in a specialized class and is exploded accross the whole main (Applet) one, which makes it difficult to maintain, especially in order to implement reliably anything else related such as the feature discussed here. So it would be quite some work and I won't have the time for this kind of overhaul before April or May. |
Interesting, and thanks for the info, @guillaume-mueller . I came here to request the same feature. I agree with you. Sunset time is fine with me, but enabling the light theme at 7 a.m. is too early for me. I just click the applet to revert it back to dark more, but I wish we could set a custom time. |
First of all: Thx for the great applet! I use it every single day :)
Same here 😅 Was hustling with redshift for years to find a good lot/lang for the wished switch times (winter, summer, morning, evening...). Now q-redshift and the browsers darkreader can be controlled with manual times, so since a while, I'd wish to change the system light/dark mode as well the same moment. The other applet darkMode by linuxedo could do it. but I like this applet more :) |

What would you like to see?
While the ability to automatically set the dark/light mode depending on sunrise/sunset is nice, the ability to just input custom times would be very helpful.
Example: Add another option for "custom time" instead of just "location" and let the user input their own time.
