Mobile drawer items clipped by Android bottom navigation bar (safe-area issue) #508

Describe the bug

Description

On Android mobile, the left sidebar drawer extends to the bottom of the screen, but the last navigation item(s) (ex: “What’s New”) get clipped/hidden behind the system navigation controls. The drawer doesn’t appear to account for the device safe area inset at the bottom.

Expected behavior

Drawer content should remain fully visible and scrollable, with padding/margin to avoid overlapping the Android navigation bar.

Common fixes

  • Add safe-area padding: padding-bottom: env(safe-area-inset-bottom)
  • Ensure drawer content is scrollable: overflow-y: auto
  • Use viewport units that respect mobile UI: 100dvh instead of 100vh
  • Add bottom spacing to the drawer container / list

To Reproduce

  1. Go to main page

  2. Open drawer

  3. Observed clipped view

Expected behavior

All drawer items should be in view.
