Managing pane focus

There is no option in the keybindings settings to set a keystroke for changing pane focus. I figured out through trial and error that its control + command + arrow. It would be nice to be able to set this. I bound it in karabiner elements to right shift as i never press that

Also, when the app loses focus, if you back click it with a mouse, it does not activate focus in the pane that the mouse clicks, it just returns focus to the previously focused pane (which might not be the one that you clicked). This is jarring as I'm expecting my click to register and set the focus, instead of just generally focusing the app.

This is really great feedback. We already track the active pane (you should see a blue border "flash" that shows the active pane when returning), but we may need to make sure we're properly setting focus as well. I'll take a look at that tomorrow.

And then we can convert the pane navigation into a proper command, so that it is configurable. Apologies for this feeling clunky ATM!

No worries! This program is already great!

I only just started yesterday, so I was only running two panes. For two panes switching with just a press of right shift is actually very snappy, but with 3 or more, I'd probably like to be able to set a shortcut to open that specific pane (even if it is in another tab). Like the command + number shortcuts that currently open specifc tabs.

I patched the 0.2.4 release to include configurable keybindings for moving the focused pane. So if you grab that again, you should see it in the keybindings editor: https://github.com/lostintangent/conduit-release/releases/tag/v0.2.4.

If you look in the keybindings, you'll see commands called Navigate to Pane on ... for all four directions. Let me know how this works! And then I'll look into the focus bug today 👍🏼
