Create tests

Mesa-geo only includes one very small test so far. We need more tests for the different functions of GeoSpace.

We've got some tests now and the coverage is at 75.90%.

I will leave the ticket open, because this would be a good starting point to contribute to the project (by adding more tests) if anyone is interested.

Hi @wang-boyu, I would like to work on this.

I’ve analyzed the coverage reports and started writing tests for GeoSpace, specifically targeting the to_crs method. In the process, I discovered a logical bug in the current implementation:

Inplace: to_crs(..., inplace=True) transforms the agents/layers but fails to update self.crs on the GeoSpace object itself.

New Instance: to_crs(..., inplace=False) initializes the new GeoSpace instance using the old CRS instead of the target CRS.

I have already written tests that reproduce this behavior (they fail on the current main branch) and have a fix ready locally.

Question on Next Steps: Since these new tests will fail without the bug fix, would you prefer I submit a single PR that includes both the fix and the tests? Or should I open a separate PR just for the bug fix first?

Hi @Tejasv-Singh thanks for reporting and for writing test! I’m surprised we missed this for so long.

If you're up for a fix, please go ahead and submit a single PR, containing both the tests and the fix. This way the build should be able to pass.
