Cannot build the solution in Visual Studio for mac 17.6

I can't build the solution in Visual Studio for mac 17.6. I'm getting the following error.

Am I missing something ?

Yes. Both .NET6.0 and.NET 7.0 is installed in my machine.

I've noticed this error in the past when nuget fails to restore properly -- the nuget tool seems to give this error.
When running a dotnet restore from the command line first does this succeed?
