  • I have searched for my issue and not found a work-in-progress/duplicate/resolved issue.
  • I have not been informed if the issue is resolved in a preview version of the winget client.

Category of the issue

Installation issue.

Brief description of your issue

When running an upgrade of all available packages, I'm getting the following error: "Uninstall failed with exit code: 1618".

The error doesn't happen on the Acrobat Reader update, but the following package. I don't have a screenshot of the GUI popup, but it said the package failed to install because another installation was running. This was correct, winget output "Successfully installed" and started the next update before Acrobat Reader finished updating.

I am assuming this is an issue with the Acrobat Reader package not correctly detecting when the upgrade completes, but if it's an issue with the winget client or the other package I will be happy to refile this report.

Steps to reproduce

Run "winget upgrade --all" and Acrobat Reader updates before another package.

Actual behavior

Winget starts the next upgrade before Acrobat Reader finishes.

Expected behavior

Winget upgrades Acrobat Reader then moves on to the next package.
