Automate end-to-end tests

I am pretty time-strapped at the moment (kids, busy at work, multiple parallel open source projects...). Ideally, if I had time, I'd agree with you :) -- the manual end-to-end tests were a poor man's solution. At the moment, I would really welcome a pull request if somebody has time for it.

Fair comment, @mristin, I know what you mean regarding being busy :)
I've applied this type of end-to-end test in a couple of other GitHub Actions so I'm happy to come up with a PR at some point - may be a few weeks at least but have added it to my todo list :-)

Hey @mristin, this is still on my (large) to-do list for sure, but my main client work is keeping me very busy at the moment, so not sure when I'll have time to get it done.
