User.groups.add() or Group.users.add()?

Is there a meaningful difference between the_user.groups.add(the_group) and the_group.users.add(the_user), which one should be preferred?

Btw User and Group are not documented in https://github.com/netbox-community/netbox/blob/main/docs/development/models.md, should they be?
