Permission denied Macos on network

Hey, i'm an editor trying to download and test the corridor key. I don't have a lot of knowleage with programming, just a bit of html on school some years ago.

My issue:
I'm trying to download on automatic or manual and both gives me two errors that i can't pass;

Automatic:
bash: /Users/finotti/Desktop/CorridorKey-main/Install_CorridorKey_Linux_Mac.sh: Permission denied

Manual, downloading uv:

@kinoks it looks like the shell scripts do not have Execute mode (permission to be executed) by default. IIRC, this is normal behavior for Mac in some contexts.

Here are Apple's official instructions about this. Instead though, I recommend just running this command in the repo:

chmod +x Install_CorridorKey_Linux_Mac.sh

That command tells chmod to enable all users to be able to execute that script. If you want to learn more about chmod and what that command does, open the man (manual) page for chmod with this command: man chmod.

To first verify that you need to do this, run: ls -lha, and look for the install script in the list. Mine looked like this:

In order for the script to be executable, you must see at least one x in the circled red section. After I made my script executable, ls -lha showed this:

If you run into more snags, this info would be useful:

1. Which version of Mac OS are you on? Recent versions of Mac OS still have bash, but their default shell has changed to zsh. You can still run bash scripts, but when you open Terminal, you'll be in zsh, which has some slight differences with bash. This might slightly change some commands, but may not be something you need to think about yet.
2. Are you using Apple Silicone? (e.g. M1,2,3,4 or M5?) There may be some differences when building this for Intel Macs vs. Apple Silicone Macs.

Might be worth having the repo update these scripts to be executable.
Should be a quick fix on top of the work done in #200.

@armaanhammer For what's worth, the differences between zsh and bash are irrelevant here, since the scripts use the shebang (#!/usr/bin/env bash) to specifically target bash :

@kinoks, alternatively instead of running this:

/Users/finotti/Desktop/CorridorKey-main/Install_CorridorKey_Linux_Mac.sh

run this:

bash /Users/finotti/Desktop/CorridorKey-main/Install_CorridorKey_Linux_Mac.sh

Should work fine since it doesn't need any execution privileges.
