Steps to reproduce

  1. Open the app and go to the search bar.

  2. Notice the pre-filled text (manga name, extension name, etc.).

  3. Try to delete or replace it—it remains stuck.

  4. The library displays only content related to the stuck text, preventing access to other manga and comics.

Expected behavior

The search bar should be clearable, allowing me to type freely and access all my libraries.

Actual behavior

The search bar displays random text, such as manga/comic names or extension names, that I cannot remove. This issue causes a major problem:

The search result is stuck showing only content related to that specific text.

For example, if the search bar randomly shows "Read Comics Online" as an extension, then only comics from that extension will be displayed, and I can’t access my MangaDEX library or other libraries.

Similarly, if the search bar randomly fills in a specific manga name, like Wolverine, then only Wolverine comics are shown, and I cannot access other manga or comics in my library.

Since I cannot remove the search text, my library access becomes restricted. The only way to fix this is by deleting the app, resetting it, and reprogramming it.

This issue is happening only in yokai and not in Mihon

  • I have written a short but informative title.
  • If this is an issue with an extension, or a request for an extension, I should be contacting the extensions repository's maintainer/support for help (Browse → Extensions → Find the extension → Settings → Tap the [<>] icon, it should redirect you to the maintainer).
  • I am reporting an issue exclusive to this fork. I have also checked that is not an issue on the main version of Mihon.
  • I have tried the troubleshooting guide.
  • I have updated the app to version 1.9.7.

  • Just to check/for more info, are you using a third-party keyboard?
  • Are you able to select the text & clear/cut from there? Or maybe paste text into the search bar?
  • For future reference, you can just upload the crash log file instead of pasting the whole thing raw.

  1. I use Google Keyboard (Gboard).

  2. Yes, I am able to select the text, cut it, and clear it. However, after doing so, if I go back, the text remains in the search bar.

  3. I can paste new words into the search bar and select different manga/comics, but the issue is that I cannot get the search bar to be blank by default, as it should be. Normally, when opening the search bar, it should be empty so I can access my entire library.

  4. Because of this issue, my search results are restricted. For example:

If the stuck text is a comic name, I only see comics related to that name.

If the stuck text is an extension name, I can only see content from that extension.

I cannot access my full library unless I reinstall the app.

I am facing another problem it's about covers and Manga covers I have stated that in issue you can look up if you can help me with that to that would be really helpful
