What's wrong?

The Gnome Files application automatically installed with omarchy has a keyboard shortcut Ctrl+. (point) to open current directory in Console. This shortcut is VERY useful, but it is not working (it does nothing)

Coming at this from a slightly different angle — I opened #7772 suggesting SUPER+RETURN reuse the cwd inheritance Omarchy already has for terminals (omarchy-cmd-terminal-cwd) when the focused window is Nautilus, rather than fixing Nautilus' own Ctrl+..

There's a working implementation in there for Nautilus 50, in case it's useful here too: the location has to be published from inside Nautilus, since LocationWidgetProvider is gone in nautilus-python 4.1 and the window's D-Bus actions carry no location.

Root cause, for anyone finding this later: Nautilus doesn't spawn a terminal for Ctrl+.
at all. It activates a D-Bus service — bus name org.gnome.Console, interface
org.freedesktop.Application, object path /org/gnome/Console. Those strings are compiled
into the binary. That service is GNOME Console, which Omarchy doesn't ship, so nothing
claims the name and the call goes nowhere. It fails identically however the action is
triggered, which is why the key looks dead rather than mis-bound.

Two things made this harder to spot than it should have been:

• The context-menu entry is the same action (view.current-directory-console) and is
  declared hidden-when="action-disabled". So it isn't greyed out, it's absent — there's no
  visible affordance hinting that anything is missing.
• Providing the D-Bus service alone isn't enough. Nautilus looks up the app's desktop
  entry before dispatching, so with a .service file but no .desktop file, Activate()
  over D-Bus works fine while Ctrl+. still silently does nothing. Both are required.

I've opened #9017, which stands in for that service and opens whatever xdg-terminal-exec
selects — so Ctrl+. and the right-click entry both come back from one fix. If
gnome-console is ever installed, the stand-in removes itself rather than shadowing it.

@danielgccr's SUPER+RETURN suggestion above is a different direction rather than a
competing one, and #9017 doesn't address it: Hyprland grabs that key before Nautilus sees
it, so that route genuinely needs to ask Nautilus where it is. This one only covers the case
where Nautilus itself initiates and hands over the folder. The two don't overlap.
