Chart component shenanigans crash Firefox tab

Description

• Update: The crash occurs due to the column chart nesting of writing-mode on grid/subgrid elements: horizontal-tb inside sideways-lr/vertical-rl.

• The crash occurs when loading the name and demographics pages, but not the search page.

• Affects Firefox on Windows and Desktop Mode on Android (standard mobile works without issues).

• Likely caused by unholy shenanigans in the experimental chart component.

• Crash reason: SIGSEGV / SEGV_ACCERR

When using responsive design mode on desktop the issue occurs on landscape mode but not on portrait.
It seems the cause is the column chart mode.

Crash still occurs when removing container query and cqh and most .chart.column styles.

Except lines 145-151 in chart.scss:

    &:dir(ltr) {
        writing-mode: sideways-lr;
    }

    &:dir(rtl) {
        writing-mode: vertical-rl;
    }

Toggling on any of these two triggers a crash.

Further investigation reveals the likely culprit. Toggling any of the above on while also turning off lines 153-157 eliminates the crash:
