I clicked Unhide on a photo twice and now it's permanently gone from my device and I can't find it!!

1. Click on a hidden photo
2. Press Unhide
3. Leave out of the photo and then when it doesn't let you click on it, click on an adjacent photo and then swipe into the first one
4. Be greeted by an error instead of your photo
5. Click Unhide again
6. Get a Java error message

And suddenly, the photo is nowhere to be found, it doesn't exist with its old filename or timestamp in the folder it used to be in, it's neither hidden nor visible, it's just seemingly entirely gone. The only thing I have left is a low resolution version of it, but I really need the high resolution version back! Please tell me there is a chance it might be somewhere else!!
