Will there be a new glibc version that is going to be added?

There are versions the way up to 2.41

I upgraded from Ubuntu 22.04 -> 24.04 on WSL2 but then go 1.23.5 fails to build because the ldd is looking for GLIBC_2.38 whereas only 2.35 is installed. I had to overwrite my system paths like below to get go build to work.

set PATH $PATH ... /home/linuxbrew/.linuxbrew/bin /home/linuxbrew/.linuxbrew/sbin

Also my brew doctor output will be weird due to the fact that my system tools are first

Given you have a newer host glibc, try run brew uninstall glibc. We should probably do so automatically but currently don't.

Yeah I suppose that is an option but was concerned if some packages depend on the homebrew glibc

We build all our bottles against host glibc so this shouldn't really be the case in practice. If you find any: let us know as it may be a bug.

After removing it's possible you may need to install/upgrade any package to update Homebrew's internal ld.so reference. That should then work for every other existing package.
