Problem installing Homebrew (Ubuntu 20.04)

Trying to install Homebrew on my laptop running with Ubuntu 20.04
I entered the following command first :

It seemed to work fine but then my computer froze. I thus had to restart over.
I reopened my terminal and repeated the process :

Use '--' to separate paths from revisions, like this:
'git <command> [<revision>...] -- `[<file>…]'

I think it is a problem on my part and not a problem with Homebrew.
I don’t know what to do next… Any suggestion is welcome!

See #666 (comment). I think it's a GitHub issue. If you're still experiencing the issue, I'd recommend opening a support ticket with GitHub.
