Describe the bug

This is not 100% reproducible.

But, several times, when I try to connect to a database via the "Welcome" tab in the "Query Tool Workspace", the "User" field is not initialized.

To Reproduce

Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  1. Launch pgAdmin
  2. Click on "Query Tool Workspace" | "Welcome"
  3. Select one of my registered servers from the "Existing Servers (Optional)" dropdown
  4. It prepopulates the "Database" field, but doesn't prepopulate the "User" field (see screenshot)

Note, this isn't always reproducible. If I try again, then it does prepopulate the "User" field, and I can't seem to make it happen reliably. But it has happen three times so far (and today, I immediately grabbed a screenshot).

Also note: the very first time I used the "Welcome" tab, and selected an existing server, It also didn't prepopulate the "Database" field. But I've never been able to capture that screenshot since the first time, so perhaps it has something to do with a fresh install?

Expected behavior

The "User" field should be prepopulated with the information in the Connection.

Hi @usernamesareaholdoverfromthe90s

I have tried multiple times but unable to reproduce it. Can you please provide the logs when this will be reproduced again?
