Can't parse private SSH keys

`ValueError: --values was included in the input but no value was provided`

is the error message received after attempting to upload a multiline private SSH key. I assume because the key has spaces in it or starts with dashes, e.g. 
`-----BEGIN OPENSSH PRIVATE KEY----- b3BlbnN`
