Description

To improve retention and active learning, introduce an interactive Flashcards feature that allows students to quickly review important concepts, definitions, formulas, and key points from each subject.

Proposed Features

• Create flashcards for important concepts across subjects.
• Display question/term on the front and explanation/answer on the back.
• Add flip-card animation for better user interaction.
• Allow users to navigate through flashcards sequentially.
• Categorize flashcards by subject and topic.
• Support both desktop and mobile devices.

I would like to work on implementing the Interactive Flashcards Feature to enhance revision, active recall, and student engagement across subjects.

Understanding of the Feature

Flashcards are a proven learning technique that help students retain concepts through active recall and spaced revision. Integrating them into the platform will provide learners with a quick and interactive way to review important concepts, formulas, definitions, and key topics.

Execution Plan

Phase 1: Flashcard Structure

• Design a reusable flashcard component.
• Create a data structure to organize flashcards by subject and topic.
• Ensure easy scalability for adding new flashcards in the future.

Phase 2: Interactive Flashcard UI

• Implement a flip-card animation to reveal answers/explanations.
• Display the question/term on the front and detailed explanation on the back.
• Maintain consistency with the existing UI design and theme.

Phase 3: Navigation System

• Add Previous/Next navigation controls.
• Display card position (e.g., Card 3 of 15).
• Ensure smooth transitions between flashcards.

Phase 4: Subject & Topic Categorization

• Allow users to access flashcards from relevant subject pages.
• Organize flashcards based on chapters/topics for structured revision.
• Provide an intuitive browsing experience.

Phase 5: Responsiveness & Testing

• Optimize the feature for desktop, tablet, and mobile devices.
• Test flip animations and navigation across major browsers.
• Verify accessibility, performance, and UI consistency.

Additional Enhancements

• Progress indicator showing completed flashcards.
• Shuffle mode for randomized revision.
• Bookmark/Favorite flashcards for quick access.
