Relevant env vars:

R_RTOOLS44_PATH         C:\rtools44/x86_64-w64-mingw32.static.posix/bin;C:\rtools44/usr/bin
RTOOLS40_HOME           C:\rtools40
RTOOLS42_HOME           C:\rtools42
RTOOLS43_HOME           C:\rtools43
RTOOLS44_HOME           C:\rtools44

This is on R 4.4.x.
