Errbit

Errbit is an open source error tracker that follows the Airbrake API. It uses Ruby on Rails, and Mongoid to connect to MongoDB.

The code is maintened by a few people, and we are very active at GitHub, so we follow the GitHub open source flow of Pull Requests, Issues, and merges. All new contributions are welcomed and highly appreciated. We are also looking for more projects maintainer to make sure the project is always being pushed forward.

As a production environment, we use errbit extensively at Shopify, and we are willing to test/help with new features.
I will be the main mentor for this project, but we also have an IRC channel to make sure we are always on top of communication and no question are unanswered.

Goals:

• Learn Ruby on Rails
• Learn RSpec and TDD using examples that already exist in the project.
• Learn how a no-sql database works, and its features and trade-offs.

Tasks that teams could work on:

• Polish the design. The errbit design is OK at the moment, but It could be way better.
• Help extracting some functionalists from errbit to a gem structure of plugins.
• Be compatible to Airbrake v3 notice API ( http://help.airbrake.io/kb/api-2/notifier-api-v3 )
• Improve the login system.
• Improve deploy process.
• Ability to categorize errors.

We are interested to work on this project .We are already in pair but need a coach and mentor too.
We are new at this coding but we have worked on certain other languages.We would prefer to work in India itself.

@challenger-app and @Aishwarya923 Thanks a lot for taking a time on this project. I am super glad to mentor you guys all and help with whatever I can... We have lots of tasks to tackle in errbit ATM, so we should create a way to communicate each other , like a IRC, or campfire. Whatever is best for everybody.. I will put something together and post the link in here...
