Lines move up when pressing enter

Stupid description, I know...

I have a line at the bottom of my screen drawn by zellij and a shell above that. The zellij line starts at the very bottom of the screen, but moves up whenever I press enter.

It does not happen when zellij draws a border around the shell area, then to bottom-most line stays where it is. It looks a bit like a off-by-one pixel error, making empty lines a pixel higher than lines with any text in it (like a prompt).
