We're testing out Pulse on a 2-node proxmox cluster, running mostly Windows VM's, with a few linux ones too.
We have qemu guest agents installed on the windows guests.
I'd like pulse to alert if a VM crashes, like say a BSOD, where proxmox logs don't show anything wrong.
I tested this by rebooting a VM and entering the boot menu, so the OS hasn't started.
Proxmox shows the VM as online, but correctly notes guest tools are not running if you look in the overview.
Pulse also doesn't create any alert. It's still getting cpu/ram info from proxmox, but doesn't notice guest tools is no longer providing other information like disk usage, IP address, etc.
I was able to get alerting for situations like this working by installing the pulse agent on the windows guest, but I'd like to know if there is a way to detect this without installing the pulse agent.
The 'storage' stats drop out when a VM crashes since proxmox isn't getting that info from the guest tools, but in pulse I seem to be only able to set a threshold for space used, nothing for if space reported is empty.

Any thoughts?
