Not shure if it is a bug, but I have a separate script that connects GPIO buttons to MPD actions like play, pause, webradio direct links etc. If I run the script manually, it works but I cannot make it work from boot by using startup.sh.

Most likely you hit long-time process issue. You can try

1. Using exec to run your script
   exec /link/to/your_script.sh
2. Detaching process

umask 113
setsid --fork sh -c '/link/to/your_script.sh'  2>&1 <&-
exit 0

3. Using service to run your scripts

cat > /etc/systemd/system/localscript.service <<EOF
[Unit]
Description=Local startup script
After=startup.service

[Service]
Type=idle
ExecStart=/link/to/your/localscript.sh

[Install]
WantedBy=multi-user.target
EOF

With some help from Gemini and your help above, everything runs perfect! 5 momentary buttons to web radio stations and the rotary encoder from the settings menu, what an amazing setup. Thank you so much for a fantastic software and great support! /Martin from Sweden.
