Dear roc community, thank you in advanced and , in case my question sound silly, sorry in advance. :)
I was looking for alternatives to create a scalable audio server for a video game.
The application would mix audio from different sources (e.g. voices from different mics, synthetic sounds and playsounds) over a LAN network. I found this project very interesting and, to my understanding (I might be wrong though), this project seems to perfectly fit my needs.

However, I was questioning myself, how would ROC compare with HLA (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/High_Level_Architecture) and DIS (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Distributed_Interactive_Simulation) standards?
With a quick look through I could not find references to them.
Is ROC somehow related to (e.g. implements partly of fully one of) those standards?
Or is this a completely different approach?
If it is a different approach, what would be the pros/cons?
