Nice, thanks @Kobzol for pulling this together!

I left a few suggestions for additions.

Tagging @MerrimanInd for visibility and discussion before the suggestions are accepted.

Is "will commit resources" a too strong ask for this little context provided? When filling this survey I would think that I would commit resources, provided the work will meet what I need.

(same comment also for the other question)

I left some comments/questions mostly because I don't know the discussion behind this survey...

# Rust Language & Ecosystem for Safety-Critical: Project Goals 2026

Hey there! Thanks for taking the time for this survey. Please provide your feedback on those things, which, if available would improve the ability for your company to use the Rust programming language in a safety-critical context. We will use your feedback to inform which Rust Project Goal(s) the Safety-Critical Rust Consortium should propose for 2026.

I guess this is a first draft, but this intro text could use some improvement. For example:

  • who is the target audience for this survey?
  • can we rephrase "those things" into something more specific, like "platform support", "features" or anything else this survey is intended to guage interest for?
  • what is the "Safety-Critical Rust Consortium"? Maybe a few links and context could help
  • What is the promise here? Will the most-wanted features be set for a project goal 2026 and resources allocated? Or is it just guaging interest?
  • Will there be a blog post or some kind of summary with the results?
  • Until when will this poll run?
  • (... probably other things I forgot ...)

(I am not in the discussion loop about this survey so maybe I am missing some context)

Hi @apiraino -- fair feedback. Will refine.

I assume all the following options are concepts very familiar to the target audience. In case they're not maybe a few links explaining what they are might be useful. If there are open issues or RFCs they could be useful as well.

Hi @apiraino 👋 fair that not much context is here. We plan to add links for the items, still gathering them.

- Would unblock development
- Would be good to have
- Not needed for my case
- Haven't heard of this before

If you think some readers could not have enough context about an option, would it make sense adding more context to external resources explaining what these items are?

name, company and email are PII, right? So the survey results outght to be handled by Foundation?

Also: why should I give you my contact? Do you want to get back to me? If yes, then I would explicitate that.

Wrote out why we'd like contact info above. And correct -- the Foundation will be distributing the survey.

I don't think it's good to add these options here, because they are no longer mutually exclusive. What if my company wants to both contribute engineering, financially, and it would unblock my use-case? I would create another question for this.
