Hi there,
is it possible to create a larger display by using several LED boards somehow? Can the software control several controller boards?
Yours sincerely and many thanks,
Andreas

Hi Andreas,

I designed the boards to be seamless along one direction, but it wasn't possible on the other. If you're OK with small gaps, you can do it.

Since we weren't doing anything like that, I never programmed the controller to support it. I don't think it would be very difficult to modify it, but I might not be the best judge of that!

We were considering making larger displays (one piece, maybe 10x10 cm) in our lab, but I haven't really had time to work on it. If I had the time, I would use the opportunity to fix some of the issues with the boards, specifically: moving the mounting holes to a reasonable location (putting them in the middle of the array was a bad decision), and adding a point-of-load (POL) power module to the display to make powering it easier (it cannot operate at full brightness using USB power). I've already started a new revision of the board, but haven't had time to finish it. I'd certainly be happy to collaborate on something like that, and I could probably devote a few hours per week to it.

Cheers,
Sam
