Description
Shaders sometimes do not match the shader settings after Display settings are automatically adjusted.
Reproduction steps
- On a machine that normally defaults SL Graphics Quality to High:
- Log in with a 7.1.10 viewer (https://releasenotes.secondlife.com/viewer/7.1.10.10800445603.html) and set the graphics to Mid+ so that water is opaque. (Preferences > Graphics > Advanced Settings > Transparent Water is Unchecked.)
- Start a 7.2.0.16729091892 - 2025.05 viewer (https://releasenotes.secondlife.com/viewer/7.2.0.16729091892.html).
- A dialog on the screen says "Display settings have been set to recommended levels because of a change to the rendering subsystem.". Graphics quality has been set to High and Transparent Water is checked.
- Log in and look at the system water.
Observed: The system water is opaque.
Expected: The system water should be transparent. The shaders should match the shader settings.
Workaround: Change the Preferences > Graphics > Quality & Speed slider down, then back up, and the shaders will recompile and match the settings.
