dGPU wattage not being fully utilised

I have an ASUS TUF F15 FX506HC, i5 11400H, RTX 3050 4GB 75W TDP. I was playing marvel rivals yesterday and had removed AC already. I noticed that the power draw of the GPU was only 22w while it was on 99% usage. I was on turbo mode and standard mode for GPU ( as there is no ULTIMATE mode for TUF series). Then i reinstalled AC, removed G helper and tried again, now the power draw was upto 50-60 W. Please help me out.

G-Helper is not a driver and it's not balancing GPU and CPU powers in realtime anyhow :)

Make sure that you use exact same settings as you do in AC. I.e. if you use all default Turbo in AC, also use default Turbo in G-Helper without applying any custom power limits or any other restrictions. You can click Factory Defaults if you adjusted something before.

I don't know what game / app do you use, but if it's something CPU intensive game - make that you have CPU boost enabled, and you can also set Power Mode to High Performance Plan under Fans + Power

For a testing scenario, I suggest to start with some GPU-onlu benchmark, like Furmark and check how it behaves there first.

Since you have skipped an issue template, and didn't provide app logs I can't really advice anywhere further.

Hi, I know it sounds weird. But here's an example. And in both the cases I'm using Turbo mode and in G helper I'm using the Highest performance plan. But here's for G helper [

@kalKestis19 may be it's some strange nvidia control panel settings? as I remember when you set "Silent" mode it would also toggle Whisper mode (restricting power) under Nvidia, and even if you uninstall AC - it remains?

Also try to run Furmark. It doesn't use CPU at all, but load GPU on max and compare loads there.

I have tried everything, but only when I use AC does my GPU draw more than 20W

Did you try doing a clean Nvidia driver reinstall using DDU to see if it's some driver hiccup?

After doing so, can you post a screenshot of your benchmark in Furmark and also upload log from %appdata%\GHelper ?

There are hard BIOS power draw defaults that are programed in. Laptops cannot provide the power required to keep both the CPU and GPU fully fed with the power they need to run. These devices are meant to extract full power in that manner when plugged in.

Also note that your Optimus setting will hugely impact it as well. If you want it to run near full power, you will need to set the Display Mode to NVIDIA GPU only.
