⚠️ CW: transmisic terms

I've read a lot around this, and I think having a nuanced take on:

  • Where the term comes from
  • How it's used
  • How many gnc, non-binary, and trans folks actually don't care for it at all
  • Nuance between womyn/wombyn

Some starting points:
https://www.reddit.com/r/asktransgender/comments/6l41jo/is_womxn_or_womyn_specifically_terf/
https://everydayfeminism.com/2015/05/feminist-phrases-marginalize-trans-women/

Ideally I would like someone who identifies as trans and/or non-binary to write this definition.

I'll put my hand up as a trans woman and non-binary person who'd be willing to at least provide input. If I get a chance before someone else does I may write it as well.

That said, I won't assign myself because I don't want someone else to come along and not write it while it languishes in my to-dos underneath a million other things (I'm this year's PyCon AU conference director and our CFP is open now, so AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA).

@excitedleigh The AAAAAA was so relatable! 😅 Would you feel comfortable being the sensitivity reader if someone else is able to write? (Ofc I would love if you can write and also understand the long to do list?)

If too much time passes before a definition is created please let me know if you would like any help. I have close friends in the LGBTQ community who could help and I could use the information learned from them to cross confirm here. I'm glad to see many up to the task already. If there's any way I can help, feel free to let me know.
