Max Payne
- Download d3d8to9 (https://github.com/crosire/d3d8to9)
- put d3d8.dll into "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Max Payne" directory
Fix missing music, narration, and sounds
- download dsoal (http://vaporeon.io/hosted/dsoal-builds/)
- copy dsound.dll, dsoal-aldrv.dll, and alsoft.ini into the "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Max Payne" directory
- run HKCUdsound.reg file
INTEL / AMD Zen2/Ryzen3 CPU JPEG ERRORS FIX
- go to "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Max Payne" directory and backup rlmfc.dll
- open hex editor (HxD) and edit rlmfc.dll
- go to offset 0x256ED (in common editors, row 256E0, column 0D)
- replace 83 E0 0F to 90 90 90

RTX Remix (optional)
- download rtx remix (https://github.com/NVIDIAGameWorks/rtx-remix)
- download mod (https://www.moddb.com/mods/max-payne-rtx-on-demo-level)
- Detail Textures: High causes white walls (Medium is ok)
- Other Textures: High causes light flickering bugs
- Character Shadows: Medium/High causes black textures underneath everyone (this is normal, as RTX Remix already renders the shadows)
Developer Settings Menu > Game Setup > Step 1: Categorize Textures
- Select and checkmark all UI Textures
- Save Settings to create rtx.conf file
