Is this project abandoned?

There has not been any updates for the last 6 months. is this project dead or we have something to look forward to?

Hey @Sourabhpatel1, good timing on asking. I actually posted an update on this on Friday for Skeleton (another/larger project I maintain that we were building this to work in conjunction with):

Basically we desperately want a tool like this, but right now I just do not have time for to properly contribute and maintain it. It's actually on my agenda this week to move the project over to a maintenance mode and post a news update regarding this here.

In short, it's not abandoned in that we may never touch it again. But at present there's just not enough time in my schedule to devote to updates right now.

A couple other things of note:

• Hunter has a pretty hefty PR pending with a number of notable changes. We've just never had a chance to review given the large scope and limited time. When time allows I would like to try to merge this into the public branch.
• Alternatively, Svelte has recently launched their new Attachments feature which aims to resolve a lot of the downsides to "Use" Actions. I think there's a case to be made for these being the driving force for how popovers are linked to their trigger elements. See Joy of Code's video if you're curious to learn more. However, these have only recently launched and I have not had a chance to test drive them extensively. Any use of this would likely be a notable rewrite of the existing implementation.
• And if you need an extensive solution for popovers in the meantime, I absolutely encourage you to reach for Floating UI directly. It's a lot easier to integrate with Svelte than you might think. If you're using this alongside Skeleton, I do intend for us to write up a guide for utilizing Floating UI directly within your Skeleton projects in the future. Unfortunately no ETA for that yet though.

All this said, if you're interested in helping contribute and move this project forward, then we're open to the help.

I am a huge fan of skeleton ui and have been using skeleton in my small projects. I currently, am, using floating/dom in my personal projects as zen is my browser of choice and sadly firefox doesn't support anchor-positioning yet. I look forward to the impending changes and I greatly appreciate all the work done by skeletonlabs.

Also given all major browser developers have agreed to work on anchor-positioning, native solutions will be better suited for a project like this. By exposing components like anchor and trigger which are bound together either by nesting or programmatically and has callbacks which determine whether the anchor is a tooltip or popover. But this is just my 2 cents.
Really looking forward to whatever's next.

I am a lawyer by training and farmer by trade. I just like to tinker around and make small things that i run locally. I do not have enough experience with development of large projects else I would love to contribute some here. Let me know if I can contribute to this project in any way and I would find the time.

I agree Sourabh, native first is what Skeleton is all about. As for contributing, Skeleton will remain actively in developement, so if you see an issue that appeals to you, consider volunteering for that. Our contribution guides are here if it helps. The help is always appreciated.
