Background & Problem Statement

Epic: #119

Cockpit must provide an opinionated flow over GitHub issue structure: epics, breakdown, relationships, comments, SDLC role status, and templates. It must not behave like a generic issue tracker.

Proposed Solution

Create Goal Board, Epic View, Relationship Graph, and Comments-as-Workflow lanes based on AgentFlow issue standards.

Requirements

• Goal Board columns: Intake, Scoped, Planned, Implementation, Validation, Review, PR Ready, Done, Blocked.
• Epic View shows JTBD, child issues, dependencies, acceptance matrix, risk, active workstreams, linked PRs, follow-ups, decision log.
• Relationship Graph shows goal/epic/issue/role-pass/validation/review/PR/follow-up nodes and typed edges.
• Comments grouped into lanes: Workflow Status, Handover, Decisions, Clarifications, Review Findings, Validation, Follow-ups.
• Use templates/markers; do not depend on freeform comment chronology alone.

Acceptance criteria

• Epic page rolls up child issue phase/evidence state.
• Relationship graph renders issue/PR/follow-up links.
• Comments lanes parse marker-based workflow comments.
• Goal board filters by risk, phase, blocker, reviewer needed, PR readiness.
• Empty/malformed issues degrade gracefully and suggest standards fixes.

Test plan

• Fixture tests for epic rollup and comment lane parsing.
• UI tests for board filters and relationship graph.
• Regression tests for malformed issue bodies.

Workflow classification

Product feature. Requires tech writer and tester phases.
