Image capture stops after some time

Hi!

Trying to get the PS4 camera running in Windows 8.1 using this code. Successfully compiled it and uploaded the firmware, after which the device is detected as a camera. But there is no output in the built-in Camera app. Tried capturing the image with ps4eye executable using libusbk driver installed with Zadig. It works for a short time, then the capture stops and you can see errors in the output.
Just wanted to know if this is normal behaviour that the capture suddenly stops (unstable driver), or there's something wrong with my setup? And why the Camera app cannot capture the stream (even before I install libusbk driver on it)?

Hi!

The first thing you should try is to lower the framerate (or changing to a smaller video mode) when calling "init", eg:

eye->init(1, 60);

I've noticed that the connection with the camera drops when a lot of throughput is needed (this may be just a problem with the driver).

On the other hand, how did you try to use the camera app?
The way I do it is that I first upload the firmware, then the camera is detected as a UVC device, and then I can open it with the camera app.

Thank you very much for your reply! I already lowered the frame rate to 30 FPS, this way it works somewhat better, but it stops after 1—2 minutes if capturing anyway :( Did not try to change resolution yet though.
As for the Camera app, I upload the firmware using ps4eye first, then the device is detected as UVC, as you said. But the Camera app says there is a problem with my camera and does not display anything.

I never got that error you describe while using the camera app. The error may be that the camera app is not recognizing the frame format (2 frames + audio + something else), but this is just a wild guess.

Is the camera app display region black? What happened to me is that the camera app showed a black window, but it was just that the camera had a very low exposure. If you see a black window try to face the camera towards a bright light (such as a light bulb) and you should be able to see it (be cautious not to use extreme lighting such as laser).

I doubt the problem is because of low lighting because the Camera app does not only show a black screen, but also prints a message saying that something is wrong with my camera. Just wondering why it can happen. Also, the ps4eye app shows normal image in the same conditions (but it has another issue with connection drop).
