Thanks for the kind words! If you want a new note to always have a timestamp, you should be able to set that up with the Creation Rule Templates. Tangent wouldn't do that by default because it doesn't want to assume too much about what you want out of notes. For inserting things on the fly, I've been considering something like this for a while. Something like "note actions" that you can invoke, including inserting arbitrary text. In this world, "Creation Rules" would be of this same type of thing. |

hi,
I think it would be great if we could add time, like a standard timestamp in the md files, using a shortcut...
I know that Tangent records dates of creation, as well as access,
but being able to add timestamps would be great addition...
I don't know if anything like this exists...
//--
I did a search: https://duckduckgo.com/?t=lm&q=markdown+timestamp&atb=v486-1&ia=web
plus read this: https://www.markdownguide.org/basic-syntax/
--//
but adding a timestamp / date-time in the first line of a file could be a good pratice...
It could universally mean creation date...
and adding a date-time (timestamp) at the end would mean last-ed time...
it could have a "tag"... like ">t%%", ">|t|".. whatever...
I'll do something like this manually :)
reason: I've changed the extension of a few hundred .txt notes to .md, of the past 5-6 years,
by the way, Tangent is BEAUTIFUL !!!,
and I'm really happy whenever I see a date in them, cause it's great to see when I wrote one :)
Thank you for Tangent!!! :)
Peter
