Add content to FAQ page #26
Comments
This looks like a good start. If I can think of anything to add to it, I'll
let you know.

We should compile a list of questions often asked on our mailing list and
elsewhere, and determine which of these should be added to the FAQ page.
List of potential questions to add the FAQ page:
1. Can you combine Timestamp and Snapshot?
2. What happens when you have to revoke a key?
3. Can I use the same keys for different roles?
4. How can I experiment with TUF?
5. Can I use an online key to sign the Targets role?
6. What's the point of having the Root and Snapshot roles?
7. Is there a presentation or video about TUF?
8. How often should role metadata expire?
9. How do you recover from a repository attack?
10. What happens if a key is compromised?
11. Why should we use delegations?

I'd like the FAQ to include some clarity on versioning -- that the current version of the TUF reference implementation is 0.12.1 and that it complies with version 1.0 of the TUF specification. I'd also like the FAQ to be linked from the About dropdown. |
As you can probably tell, this was an idea that Vlad (one of the developers) and I started working on and it just stopped...partly because there was a lack of clarity who we were writing for (new users or the TUF community) and partly because both of us were needed elsewhere. I think a FAQs page is a good idea, so I'd like to see this finalized and posted. The TUF site needs a lot of updating. It's already on my To Do list for the next month. Comments and suggestions are very welcomed Lois |
