What happened?

I enjoyed the latest features (collapsible header besides some nice useability features) which where shipped in the update available yesterday. just right now the update bubble occured again (to 20.4), but after updating i noticed that the changes from basically today are gone (cloud space), but i intensively worked on a map the recent 3 hours with one hour break in the middle - all changes before and after that break are gone; likely, all changes from today (I need to think if I changed something else today)

pretty sad :-/

I’m sorry that happened. You can try checking the snapshots in your history and use them for recovery.

oh, wonderful. this is what i was looking for.

however, i didn't need to that. I closed AFFiNE ten minutes ago, hoping for a response from you tomorrow.
Now, when opening AFFiNE again after seeing you immediate response (thank you for that!), I tried to navigate to that point. I ended up with this.

Image

Even I was logged in, I hit the reload button.
After that, all my elements appeared in the edgeless mode again and I didnt even need to go to the Version history. Strange, but at the end good :)

One more thing I noticed: After updating to 20.4 and when missing my changes, my space image wasn't shown (it was this green-ish default image), but i didn't really notice that. But now, the image is back.

Image

I am wondering if the cloud sync was completed after update, even the typical sync circle wasn't present. Sharing this with the hope it helps you to trace what might have happened in my case and why sync wasnt either completed or the latest version of my files werent accessible for some time - no idea, but thank you for your help and i am happy everything is back 😉🥇

alright, i think i have the possible root cause. there are two AFFiNE versions on my PC.
I assume 0.17.5 was correctly uninstalled when upgrading to the next higher version (I cannot recall when this was and I certainly skipped one or the other update, but certainly I used the "update bubble" button ... i think so.

Image

And today, I assume, I worked in the old version ... for whatever reason. Unfortunately, windows start menu doesnt show which one is which,...

Image

... but after updating the updater will likely open the new version. All I am saying: I am afraid today i worked in the old version and changes havent been synced. I updated the changes I did today and will remove the 0.17.5 version.

I just found it: The pinned icon still links to the 0.17.5

the version before 0.19.0 now forbidden to connect to sync service because of using a lot of deprecated APIs.
The data you said lost seems be be written in v0.17, which is not allowed to be synced to cloud. you may manually copy or export them and import into the latest version
