Filter selection for Yearbook images #72
Comments
Also liking the general brightness and quality of these photos on TRNK Worried ours might get a little too yellowish... |
I also like M5 better. I'll start doing the script on photoshop. When do you want them ready? |
Looking pretty good! The main difference I see is more "white hotspots", for example on the right side of his face... |
An exact matching method. It would require adjustments image by image, more so on the colors. |
WHOA that curves adjustment approach is NUTS. I do like the latest approach that you posted. In the interest of not overworking all the images, why don't we wait to do the photo editing until I've selected the ones we'll be using in the actual layout? |
Hey @buzoherbert, here's a quick update on the design of the yearbook (printed, at least). I decided to go grayscale for the images because (1) it's way cheaper in print production to limit the number of colors and (2) I think it actually makes everyone's faces stand out more. The eyes really pop, rather than just looking at a flurry of colors (although that is part of what makes it all beautiful!). I have all the files linked, so what may be helpful is just doing a bit of contrast adjustment and white balancing as needed. |
Hey Sk, here is my take on the editing process, it took me only 1 minute per image tops and it consists on custom b&W conversion highlighing the main colors of the clothes people are wearing and some custom sharpening. There's no script, so each one of them would be custom, but it doesn't take that much time. What do you think on the general feel of them? Also, if you like the, could you do a test print to see if they look good on paper? |
Hey! |
Likely chosing a vsco filter, or one close to it, to generate more visual consistency in photo editing.
