Unable to install the Salesforce Package.xml generator extension for vscode

I used this extension without any issues few years but recently I had issues with VSCODE with sfdx vs sf versions and I had to re install the vscode. Now when I try to install this extension it is taking long time and failing.

Appreciate any help as it is hard to work without this extension.
