The working group plan to remove the following specifications from the charter:

Trace Context: AMQP protocol
Trace Context: binary protocol
Trace Context: MQTT protocol

These specifications didn’t get enough attention from adopters. So we plan to archive these.

What it means:

Any implementation of trace context propagation via those protocols is free to use any work done in those repositories.
If specification will be resumed, there is no guarantee of continuity of these specs.

The Trace Context level 3 was intended to support propagation of trace context via response headers, integrating with the Server-Timing. This work receives very little attention and the working group is seeking adopters and contributors to help drive this conversation forward. The working group does not plan to remove this from the charter at this point, but may consider doing it in future updates.

TODO: Add a mention of OpenTelemetry in the background section since it's the most publicly notable project that makes use of the specifications produced by this group.
