Quandl s API have a rate limit [1], and having in mind the data frequency is usually in daily, if not weekly, it makes sense to add a caching layer to save on requests.

The Docker image published to Docker Hub should have some embedded metadata, like Git revision, date of build, and possibly version. [1]
