Unless you change the default, do you expect anyone to use it?

We won't be able to release this until the next major version. No customers ask/complain about the current behavior. If someone really wants this, they can do JSON validation using the Map API.

So if we all agree with the reasoning above, I would drop this and close the PR for now.
