INSTANCE EVIDENCE ONLY. State that first: this proposes no new mechanism and exists to give #75 a clean, dated field case from a window two days after it was filed.
THE INSTANCE. Finding 031 (2026-09-03) proposed, as its second improvement candidate, that a wind-down before-figure "should be captured by the startup ritual, not by Step 2 — it is asked for at the end and is only obtainable at the beginning, which is why two consecutive sessions have failed to produce it". Finding 032, the next session the same day, retracted it: "The wc -c candidate from finding 031 is NOT repeated here — it was satisfiable by reconstruction this session, which weakens the case that the procedure needs changing."
WHAT MAKES IT A CLEAN CASE FOR #75. The retraction is correct on the merits, is stated plainly, and is reasoned — this is the mechanism working as well as it can within the current shape. And it is still only discoverable by reading two findings in order and noticing an absence: finding 031's improvement_candidate is unchanged in its own file and still reads as a live proposal; nothing in it points forward; nothing in 032 is machine-linkable to it. A retro that read 031 alone would file a candidate its own author had already withdrawn — and this pass came close to doing exactly that.
#75's WORDING HOLDS EXACTLY: "a findings improvement candidate can be retracted or escalated by a later finding, and nothing links them — the candidate stream has revisions with no revision mechanism." Nothing to add to the diagnosis; the contribution is the dated instance and the near-miss.
A SMALL SHARPENING OFFERED, take it or leave it: the retraction here lives in the RETRACTING finding, which is the file a reader of the retracted candidate will never open. Whatever link #75 lands on, the annotation that matters is the one written back into the ORIGINAL — the same "annotate in place" shape intake #77 already argues for refutations.
DELTA: none claimed against #75.
Gate-2 recommendation: A COMMENT ON #75. Filed as a field-issue only because withholding an item from the pipeline is inadmissible at the routing step; intake #63's test would also demote it, and that agrees with this recommendation.
