Motivation

• Provide a single, detailed product plan that defines features, screens, data flows, and acceptance criteria for a desktop SupplyChain Control Tower.
• Create a clear MVP and multi-phase roadmap to align product, engineering, and stakeholders on scope and delivery priorities.

Description

• Add a new planning document at docs/supplychain-control-tower-desktop-app-plan.md that enumerates modules A–L covering onboarding, connectors, canonical data model, governance, control tower visibility, exceptions, automation, planning, supplier portal, reporting, security, and operations.
• Document desktop navigation screens, the end-to-end data pipeline (Ingest → Transform → Validate → Publish → Detect → Act → Learn), and a phased build plan (Phase 1–4).
• Include exception library, case workflow features, automation and approval gates, forecasting/replenishment functionality, and supplier portal capabilities.
• Define a concise “Definition of done” with planner-facing acceptance criteria and operational resilience expectations.

Testing

• Verified the new file was created and contains content with wc -l docs/supplychain-control-tower-desktop-app-plan.md, which succeeded.
• Confirmed repository state with git status -sb and inspected the file contents with nl -ba docs/supplychain-control-tower-desktop-app-plan.md, both of which succeeded.
• Committed the document and exercised the PR creation tooling to produce the PR metadata, and those automated steps completed successfully.
