OCA Helpdesk / Enterprise Helpdesk paralell?

Is it possible to use (some) modules from this repo togehter with enterprise helpdesk?

E.g. if i try to install it I get this Error:
raise KeyError(
KeyError: 'Field sla_fail referenced in related field definition helpdesk.ticket.report.analysis.sla_fail does not exist.'

From what I understand, it won’t work well in practice.

Enterprise Helpdesk and the OCA helpdesk modules are based on different data models (the OCA one was originally built from the old open-source helpdesk), so some OCA addons expect fields/models that don’t exist in Enterprise — like the sla_fail error you’re seeing.

Some generic modules might still coexist, but anything touching SLA/reporting will likely break unless it’s adapted.

Thanks, that confirms my suspicions.
I'm getting the same error on Odoo v18.
I wanted to test the "maintenance_helpdesk_mgmt" module, which itself requires "helpdesk_mgmt".
Do you have any further information since then?

In my case no chance, but we gave the oca module to claude and it copied it brilliantly for odoo enterprise, brave new world ...

I wouldn't recommend to use any direct AI output without supervision, as it can modify things without noticing at first that at mid term will provoke a problem. In any case, at least you are having a frozen version of the module, not benefiting from any update done on the base code.

What I still don't get is why you want to have both systems installed at the same time, being so similar.

In our case, the "Maintenance" module in the Enterprise version is very limited in terms of functionality, which is why we use the Community version of the "Maintenance" module.
We wanted to be able to link maintenance requests with the "Helpdesk" app (Enterprise version).
So, the "maintenance_helpdesk_mgmt" module seemed like a good idea.
Finally, i think the best approach for us will be to develop a small module for this.

Yeah, I think it's better to do that module linking enterprise helpdesk with OCA maintenance, or best, switch to OCA helpdesk and remove enterprise one 😉
