These are still a WIP, but here are some examples of how the download pages can be updated.

I'm planning an Additional Options section below the main download button to capture more of the information from the current pages.

In content/download/docker.en.md, it says that the main docker images are GRASS GIS 8.4.0 (preview). However, the main images are currently 8.5.0. Shall we avoid this bamboozling situation by avoiding the numbers in the title? Saying something like GRASS GIS developer's preview version or something shorter, better?

@pesekon2 pls see https://grass.osgeo.org/download/docker/ - to me it looks sufficiently clear.

(the versions are managed in this central JSON file, maybe not yet perfectly used...)

@neteler: I think my comment is outdated. It was in times when 8.4.0 was marked preview on the webpage you linked (thus the phrase in my comment -- GRASS GIS 8.4.0 (preview)). Last time I pulled from that, the version inside the docker was actually 8.5.0. Now the versions seem to be corresponding. I probably hit some window when those versions were not corresponding. Everything is fine now.

I've added Linux and Docker views.

Linux

The download button on top needs to be different for these views, but I'm not sure what we should link to there.

The download part and buttons are more to the right, is it possible to have all on the same vertical line?

Yes, I can change the margins.
