If you use Kali Linux with Openbox and want to have the nice tools menu including icons, then you can grab it here.
NOTE:
If you want an icon-less version (for #!
aka crunchbang
) you can use the following command to remove the icons from the menu:
cat kali_menu.xml | sed 's/\sicon=".*"//g' > kali_menu-no_icons.xml
# Debian
sudo apt-get install rxvt-unicode-256color
# Ubuntu
sudo apt-get install rxvt-unicode
# Arch
sudo pacman -S rxvt-unicode
# CentOS
sudo yum install rxvt-unicode
Find the <menu>
Section (near bottom) and place <file>kali_menu.xml</file>
somewhere into it.
<openbox_config>
<menu>
...
<file>kali_menu.xml</file>
...
</menu>
</openbox_config>
Place the following line at the position of the menu.xml
where you want the kali menu to appear.
<menu icon=".config/openbox/icons/kali_menu/kali-menu.png" id="/Kali"/>
- Copy
kali_menu.xml
to~/.config/openbox/kali_menu.xml
- Copy
icons
folder to~/.config/openbox
so that it looks like:
$ ls -l ~/.config/openbox/
total 184
