What changes are you trying to make? (e.g. Adding or removing code, refactoring existing code, adding reports)

This pull request updates the introductory slides for the AI Engineering course, improving clarity, accuracy, and structure. The key changes include the addition of a clear summary of main points, corrections to technical explanations, updates to data sources and references, and improved motivation and context for AI adoption.

Summary and Structure Improvements:

  • Added a new "Main Points" section at the beginning and end of the slides to clearly summarize the key takeaways for students. [1] [2]
  • Improved section titles and consistency across slides for better readability (e.g., "Foundation Model Use Cases", "Motivation for AI Adoption"). [1] [2]

Technical Accuracy and Clarity:

  • Corrected the definition of masked language models to clarify that they use both preceding and following context (bidirectional), and updated example usage.
  • Fixed minor typos and improved the explanation of completion tasks.
  • Clarified the overlap between AI engineering and full-stack engineering, emphasizing the rise of JavaScript-native AI APIs.

Data and References:

  • Updated image captions and references to use accurate sources and years (e.g., Bommasani et al., 2021 and Epoch AI, 2026). [1] [2]
  • Improved citation for the crawl-walk-run AI adoption framework and clarified its practical application.

Language and Motivation:

  • Rewrote the motivation section to emphasize competitive pressure, productivity opportunities, and strategic uncertainty for AI adoption.
  • Clarified milestone planning language and corrected minor grammatical errors.
