SenseBite

SenseBite is a browser-based food label guide that helps people understand ingredients without reducing food to a score.

What it does

  • Explains familiar ingredients in plain language.
  • Highlights sweeteners, stimulants, preservatives, colors, texture helpers, allergens, and common additives.
  • Reads ingredient labels with OCR in the browser.
  • Keeps the tone calm, practical, and honest about uncertainty.
  • Does not require an account, API key, or external service.

How it works

Paste an ingredient list or upload a label image. Tesseract.js reads the image locally, then the TypeScript reasoning guide looks for known ingredient patterns and explains what they usually do.

Images and ingredient lists remain in the browser during the session. No backend or database is required.
